- Thorntown - Ralph V. Woody, 69, a farmer in this community most of his life, died at 1 a.m. Friday in his home, 4 1/2 miles west of Thortown on Ind. 47. He had been ill since last December. Born Aug 26, 1890, in Montgomery County, Mr. Woody was the son of Elwood and Ida Flaningam Woody. He married Helen Faust in April 1920. They were married in Crawfordsville. Mr. Woody was a member of the Thorntown Christian Church. He had lived on the farm where he died the past 40 years. Surviving are the wife; a foster daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Worth of Park Forest, ill; a brother, Leonard Woody of near Thorntown and a sister, Mrs. Charles Jarrell of Frankfort. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Woody. Funeral services have been set for 3 p.m. Sunday in Russell & Hitch Funeral Home at Thorntown. Rev. Donald Hainer, pastor of the Thorntown Christian Church will be the officiating minister. Burial in Lutheran Cemetery east of Darlington. -- kbz
